Why Frozen and not Chilled?

We choose frozen for freshness, convenience and quality.

By gentle cooking and rapid (blast) freezing, the textures and flavours of our dishes are retained to the highest level and nutritional deterioration is halted. Our process achieves this much more effectively than the so-called, ‘fresh ready-meals’ on offer on the supermarket chill shelf.

How does my order stay frozen?

We store our frozen dishes at -20C and when you place your order, we place your goods in a thermo-insulated box with ice-gel packs top and bottom that are frozen (using SUB-POLAR technology) to         -50C!

Your order is picked by 4pm and despatched overnight to arrive with you next day within 24 hours – still deep frozen.

When Will My Box Arrive?

We promise to deliver by4pm on your chosen delivery day. Orders placed before 1pm (Monday – Thursday) will be delivered next working day – excluding Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays. Orders placed over the weekend or on a bank holiday will be delivered on the following Tuesday, although you can select a specific order date at the checkout.

How is the food prepared? 

Our dishes are prepared fresh, in small batches by our trained and experienced chefs. Then we freeze it, quickly. We don’t need, nor use nasty preservatives or modified, gas-flushed packaging and it’s being fully cooked, it’s ready to ‘heat and eat’ when you are.

Too often, retail supermarket ready-meals are too small – how about yours?

We have been supplying hotels, restaurants and gastro-pubs for many years and our generous portion size is one of the reasons that our customers keep ordering. You will not be disappointed!

What If I’m Not in to Receive It?

Our couriers will happily leave your order in a safe place or with a neighbour. You can leave delivery instructions at the checkout page.

Can I Recycle My Packaging?

Yes, all our packing can be recycled, or better still, reused.

Is it possible for a friend or family member to order your dishes on my behalf?

Yes – they can use our online food ordering service, or order over the phone and pay on your behalf, or you can pay us directly if you prefer. They can specify your delivery address during checkout.

How do I re-heat your dishes?

All the information is provided online – if you click onto the product you have ordered in the shop there is a tab with the reheat instructions and there is also a PDF attachment on the products if you would prefer to print this out!

We recommend defrosting our products before use as it retains the quality better than re-heating from frozen.

Do you have dishes suitable for allergen sufferers or for those with certain dietary requirements? 

Yes, we certainly do. Here at Life, Fork & Spoon we appreciate that unfortunately not everybody can enjoy the same dishes due to lifestyle choices or choices that aren’t our own (allergens).

We have made it our mission to provide delicious meals for everyone – including Vegetarians, Vegans and Allergy Sufferers. All allergens within the product are listed under the information tab on every dish (as is the full ingredient declaration and calories).
